Welcome to the photo gallery of the Friends of the Kalahari Meerkat Project. You find a lot of pictures taken in the KMP's field site in the South African Kalahari. The pictures are arranged in the following albums:

BEHAVIOUR
Pictures of meerkats in action, meerkat behaviour, natural history type pictures. The categories are:
A Meerkat close-ups
B Pregnancy, pups, juveniles, playfighting
C Grooming and sunning
D Eating, drinking, food competitions
E Sentinels, mobbing, natural enemies
F Fighting meerkats - within the group or between groups

PORTRAITS
Portraits of individual meerkats. The names and ID codes of each meerkat are given.

DAILY LIFE
Observing the observers - pictures of researchers, volunteers, Earthwatchers or the Meerkat Manor movie crew, while they follow the lives of the KMP meerkats.

IMPRESSIONS
Impressions from the Kuruman River Reserve, the KMP's field site, including Kalahari landscapes, sunsets, but also the abundant wildlife.

Meet the Whiskers... many more than you've ever met before! The KMP's famous movie stars now have their own gallery, covering the years 2003 to 2008!
